Principal's MessageTop of Page

Dear Parents, Guardians and McKinley Family
I am very excited to begin my third year here with the McKinley Primary family. I feel extremely blessed to be part of such a caring and dedicated group of educators and to serve in the role of principal. The past few years have revealed that the staff at McKinley Primary consists of people with amazing fortitude and contagious positive attitudes who shine during challenging times. McKinley Primary’s reputation in Gridley is one to be proud of. The school is a safe, nurturing, child-centered environment rooted in strong partnerships with parents and the community.
A little about me and my beliefs. This is my 32nd year in education and my 6th year in GUSD. I began my career as a first grade teacher, went on to teach every grade (except 5th) including middle and high school science, and have recently been serving as a teacher on special assignment for GUSD. My husband and I relocated here in Gridley six years ago from Southern California. He coaches football at GHS and teaches in special education. We have three grown children who are all in Southern California.
My vision for a thriving learning community in the primary grades includes a rich learning experience that develops the whole child with strong emphasis on play-based learning, reading and literacy, the arts, and physical activity. I believe that one of the most important aspects of my work as Principal of McKinley Primary is building meaningful relationships with students, families and staff, as well as with the community of Gridley itself. Families must be embraced as valued and essential partners in these educational efforts and we welcome you on campus as volunteers and partners in your child's education.
